What is the procedures for collecting my child early from school?

You can send a note to the class teacher informing him/her that your child needs to be collected early or you can ring the school office. On arrival at the school please check in at the school reception/office. Your child will come to the reception area and you will be asked to sign your child out. Please note that children can only be collected by a parent/guardian or a person who has been designated by a parent /guardian to collect their child.

When does my child need a note?

A note is needed in the case of an absence from school, when a child is late for school and if a child is being collected early from school. In general all special requests should be put in writing. At the back of the school diary there are a number of notes relating to attendance etc for your convenience.

Where can I find out about school policies?

A selection of school policies can be found on this website under the policy tab. Copies of all school policies are available from the school office

Where can I find school holidays?

There is an up to date school calendar available on this website. Click here to view calendar. A copy of the calendar is sent to each family in September. Please check website for updates.

How do I receive information from the school?

The latest news will be posted on the school website. The school is launching an app which will send notifications on latest news for all who wish to sign up for the app. Sign up for newsletter here . Notes, emails and texts are sent on an ongoing basis informing parents of various activities/news/events. The principal produces a regular Principal’s News link with up to date news. This is available on the website and app. A newsletter produced by the pupils is published three times a year.

Please note that paper notes are given to the oldest child in each family.

Does the school use a texting service?

Yes the school operates a text a parent service to communicate with parents. (One mobile number of your choice per pupil.) School information updates are sent out at regular intervals. Our new app service will be available to all you wish to sign up to the service which is free from February 2016.

When does school begin and finish?

The school day for all pupils begins at 9.20am.  Junior Infants and Senior Infants finish at 2pm. All other classes conclude at 3pm.

There is a short break at 11am -11.10am and lunch break from 12.20pm- 1pm.

Please note the arrival of pupils is supervised from 9.10am only.

Does the school have a school uniform?

Yes our school has a uniform.

Girls: Grey skirt/pinafore or grey slacks, blue shirt, blue jumper with school crest and a navy tie.

P.E. – tracksuit top with school crest and plain navy tracksuit bottoms.

Boys: Grey slacks, blue shirt, blue jumper with school crest and a navy tie.

How do I meet my child’s teacher?

There is a formal parent /teacher meeting once a year where you can discuss your child’s progress. Currently this is in November.

Parents can arrange to meet teachers at other mutually convenient times by contacting the school office to make an appointment.

It is important to talk with your child’s class teacher before requesting a meeting with the principal.
